During his time at Manchester United, Erik Ten Hag had little success to sign players from the former association Ajax, but Ruben Amorim could have more pleasure to recruit stars from ex-employer Sporting CP.
The Portuguese have limited an immensely overwhelming start of life in Old Trafford and the means were limited during his first transfer window at the top this winter. Patrick Dorgu was the only addition to the first team that arrived in January 29.2 million GBP.
Plans for the coming summer in the next few months are being planned, and the sporty Wonderkid Geovany Quenda is reportedly high on United’s wish list. Amorim gave the talented 17-year-old his debut in Lisbon and the teenager has made over 30 appearances for the Portuguese giants since then.
EUR 40 million could be enough to convince Sporting to sell one of its valuable assets, with Quenda currently working in the midfield role created by Amorim within the 3-4-2-1 system from Sporting. It is the formation that he has used in Old Trafford since then, albeit quite unsuccessful, and the arrival of a familiar face with enormous potential could help the young coach to achieve his goals.
These are the current United players who would suffer from quenda’s arrival this summer.
Antony’s future at United is uncertain to express them in a friendly manner. The Brazilian has become one of the worst value creation lists in the Premier League history after a nightmarish transmission of 86 million GBP and was borrowed to Real Betis in order to offer him an urgently needed season.
The 24-year-old, who all broods and without steak, will face an almighty challenge to win Amorim, and the arrival of Quenda would only push him further into the Hack order. The sporty youngster is able to play in the broad midfield or in the forward roles, Antony quickly jumped in the hierarchy after he had already established a relationship with Amorim in Portugal.
If Antony cannot rediscover his Mojo in Spain, it does not appear back for the striking Brazilian.
Quenda often presented in a broad role – either left or right – for sport and executed the same function as Landsmann Diogo Dalot in the current United team.
Dalot was one of the most impressive actors of United for 18 months – although not immune to criticism – but his lack of regular attack and flair in the future was able to replace him in Amorim’s preferred XI. At the moment there are very few United players in safety.
Quenda’s ability to add an explosive and attack -minded dynamic to the broad areas of United would correspond to the Amorim system, whereby Dalot may be forced to be satisfied with a more reserved and sporadic role.
