Chelsea transfer set to collapse with Blues ready to walk away from talks for top target

The change from Chelsea for the AC Milan goalkeeper Mike Maignan will collapse, Talksport understands.

The blues had in sight in the 10-day summer transfer window, which will be closed this evening before their club world champion campaign, to shred the French international.

Ge Talksport previously reported that the West Londoners had followed an approach to sign the shooting stopper, which only has a year with his current contract with the series -a giant.

However, a step for the 29-year-old no longer seems to get by, although Chelsea is no longer optimistic today.

Since Milan calls for around 25 million pounds to secure Maignan’s services, the blues are ready to move away from talks that do not lack goalkeeper options.

The blues have planned to simply evaluate their current options from Robert Sanchez, Filip Jorgensen, Djordje Petrovic and the highly rated Mike Penders during the World Cup.

And if Maignans move to the Stamford Bridge is not completed today, the club will not continue if the transfer window is reopened on June 16.

According to Alex Crook, the chief football correspondent of Talksport, Chelsea has already informed the Milan about it.

He discussed the increasingly less likely transfer in White and Jordan von Talksport, where he revealed that Maignan’s evaluation gives a large gap through the two clubs.

Crook said: “It won’t look like this would happen between now and the deadline from 7 p.m.

“Chelsea said Milan, if you don’t complete today, you will go away. This is a deal that will sign especially for the obligation of the World Cup.

“I think Milan believes that this is a bit of Brinkmanship and that Chelsea, if the window is opened again next Monday, could be back at the table.

“Chelsea is ready to pay £ 15 million, and Milan estimates him for 25 million GBP, obviously a large evaluation gap.

“If we are sitting here now, Chelsea is not optimistic that an offer will be completed.”

And while it may be or never for Maignan, Crook revealed that it is a different story for another blues destination. The club was preparing to resume the talks with Jamie Gitten of Borussia Dortmund later in the transfer window.

He continued: “It is a slightly different scenario with Chelsea and Jamie Gitten in Dortmund. Here, too, there is a gap between the two clubs, but in contrast to Maignan, they suggested Dortmund to continue negotiating all summer to negotiate this deal.”

Alex Crook’s judgment

“I think for Chelsea you have just seen an opportunity for good added value in Maignan. Maybe you will stay loyal to your word and you won’t go over £ 15 million and maybe you will stay with the goalkeepers you have.

“Robert Sanchez is very admired by Ben Roberts, who is responsible for the entire goalkeeper department – he had Sanchez in Brighton and was instrumental in his arrival in the Stamford Bridge.

“You have Filip Jorgensen, who came in and sometimes went well.

“But I still think that this position is a big problem for Chelsea. I don’t think you have a top -1 class.

“None of the goalkeepers you have is a fairly finished article, and if you talk about the challenge for the Premier League title and are competitive in the Champions League, you need a new one.

“Of course, a goalkeeper is on the way to Kepa – he joins Arsenal to get £ 5 million for 5 million GBP after his loan in Bournemouth last season.”
