Jermain Defoe announced that he once rejected a move to Juventus to stay in the Premier League.
With 163 goals in 496 appearances, the former England striker is the tenth goal scorer of all time ever.

These strikes came across magic with Tottenham Hotspur, Sunderland, West Ham, Portsmouth and Bournemouth.
However, he had the opportunity to move to Italy with Spurs before his second spell.
Just a year after Defoe left the Club for Pompeius, he reunited himself with the man who had taken him to the Fratton Park.
Redknapp connected to the striker for the third time in January 2009.
At the beginning of Defoe’s career, her earlier time together at West Ham followed.
The 42-year-old considered his return to the White Hart Lane and said to Talksport Drive: “I remember when I was in Portsmouth, and obviously Harry got Tottenham’s job, and I returned to Tottenham.
“I got a call a few days earlier. I said, ‘I promised Harry, I would return to Tottenham.’
“But even then, for myself, I just thought I just wanted to be in the Premier League. It was always the best league in the world.
“And then I went to Toronto [in the MLS]. I was 31 years old at the time. But then I knew in the first few months that I wanted to come back.
“I missed it so much and then I decided to return to Sunderland.”

Defoe scored 54 goals in 121 appearances under Redknapp in his second spell on Spurs.
He later left the Premier League for the MLS in 2014 and spent 11 months with Toronto FC.
His only other experience outside of England came with Scottish Giants Rangers towards the end of his game days.
In the meantime, Defoe has admitted his surprise about Jobe Bellingham’s decision to choose the chance to play in the Premier League.
The 19-year-old completed a move to Borussia Dortmund from the newly widespread Sunderland last week.
He had helped the black cats to return to the top class via the play-offs before he had concluded a five-year contract with the German Club.
When asked whether he was surprised by the move, Defoe said: “I was to be honest.
“Listen it’s a massive move. His brother [Jude] did it.
“But at the same time I just thought: ‘What a chance that a young player will show how good you are in the Premier League.’
“When an opportunity comes like this, you just don’t know. Obviously because his brother did it and tried to step into his brother’s footsteps.”
Jude Bellingham spent three years at Dortmund between 2020 and 2023 before he came to Real Madrid for £ 115 million.
