Pearce replied: “[Swipe] Right, every day for me, on both points.
“The player has to play. When [Jurgen] Klopp went, he said: “I should have played a little more Harvey Elliott”. That was one of the statements he made.
“He identified the talent of him and found that he didn’t play it enough. He didn’t play enough again this year.
“I think that would be a good step for both parties. Right.”
Pearce’s comments came after Elliott himself revealed that he was thinking about Merseyside due to a lack of time about his future.
Since Elliott joined Liverpool as a 16-year-old in 2019, he has made it 147 times, most of which are considered a replacement.

His minutes were particularly limited in the last term and only started two of his 18 Premier League appearances when his team stormed into a league title in Arne Slots first season.
This was a disappointing campaign for the playmaker compared to the season before, in which he played a total of 53 games, including 27 starts, and four goals and 11 templates registered.
Elliott shared an update about his future in June and said: “It is only a situation that I and the team have to talk about because I am now getting to an age when I am 22 years old. I will be 23 years old next season.
