Adidas officially launched the second wave of his MLS archive collection and brought retro-inspired third kits for 10 Major League Soccer Clubs to determine the early visual identity of the league.
This year’s edition of the collection contains new kits for Charlotte FC, Colorado Rapids, Columbus Crew, DC United, FC Dallas, Minnesota United, Nashville SC, New England Revolution, Earthsquakes by San Jose and Seattle Sunders.
The designs can be inspired strongly in the late 1990s and early 2000s and include an era that is known for his oversized coat of arms, living color pallets and brave patterns. From relapse logos to horizontal stripes and with high contrasting elements, each kit can be redesigned a clear visual style from the early years from MLS-NUN by a modern lens.
Adidas worked with every club to create tailor -made designs and mixed the Heritage team with references from vintage sports media -including print advertisements, catalog -shootings and TV -Broadcast aesthetics. While the kits are strongly leaning into nostalgia, they are built for 2025 clothing and combine modern materials and irritation of streetwear.
The collection also includes Adidas Gazelle sneakers, retro-style jackets and rounded off a complete off-pitch look for fans and collectors alike.
“The third jerseys are always a favorite among our fans, and the attitude of the soccer nostalgia of this collection illustrates the commitment of the league to honor the unique culture and history in our clubs and communities,” said Rachel Hoagland, MLS SVP of consumer products.
The debut 2024 of the archive collection, in which retro kits for Inter Miami, La Galaxy, Lafc, Portland Timbers and Sporting Kansas City contained, was widespread by fans and fashion enthusiasts.
This year’s drops build on this dynamic with a wider range and even brave concepts and continues Adidas’ urge to combine modern football culture with the unique past of the league. This is difficult to ignore fans of old school kits.
