This bomb came just a few hours after Newcastle had confirmed that he would not travel to Asia due to a minor thigh injury, even though a pension scan became clear.

Liverpool remains an active freelancer for Isak and is ready to pay a British transmission record fee, while the Magpies appreciate it for around 150 million GBP.

Newcastle’s preference is to keep it, but believe that his head was turned through the transmission speculation.

Clublegende Shearer, who scored 206 goals in 405 games, was shocked by the news, but insisted that no player is larger than the club.

In conversation with Betfair, he said: “It is ridiculous what Newcastle broadcast this morning to say that he was not on the journey because of a slight thigh injury. If they thought that people would not see it through … it was disappointing. They should have said the truth immediately. I understand that it is a very difficult situation for them, but it is what it is.

“Eddie Howe has to use all of his convincing forces to do what he can do and try to keep him more for at least a year. If that cannot happen, it is what it is.

“You have to get the best offer for the football club and if someone is willing to pay north of £ 150 million, and if he really really wants to go, you cannot step in his way.

“Isak was brilliant for Newcastle, helped us to realize our dream of winning a trophy, and if it cannot be persuaded to stay in Newcastle, you have to receive the best possible offer and if someone is ready to pay what you want, you have to thank you and build for the future.

“There is no one than the football club.”

Shearer admitted that Newcastle would lose a world -class player in Isak, who scored 62 goals in 109 games.

He continued: “It sounds like he was going. The news came out very strongly this morning and when that happens, it seems to be a reality.

“The players leave the football clubs constantly and are being replaced. If this is the case, it is disappointing, but they have to thank you.

Who could Newcastle replace Alexander Isak with?

Brentfords Yoane Wissa is a top goal for the Magpies and has already seen a bid of 25 million GBP.

Talksport understands that the bees can withstand £ 40 million to sell it.

Brentford has the feeling that they can afford to drive a hard bargain.

Newcastle is also interested in RB Leipzig striker Lois Openda.

Shearer believes that Wissa would be a great addition to Howe if he signed.

He said: “For Newcastle it was a bit slow to get players that Eddie Howe wants so that he can work with them, but Elanga is a good signing, really good and if you are able to get Wissa, this is another very good obligation.

“I think Elanga and Wissa are two very good obligations, and we already have one of them, but if it is a big IF, Newcastle sign Wissa, I still have the feeling that they need two or three more there.

“I know that it sounds like they are strong for James Trafford, so you can be City, but I would think that Eddie Howe wants to have two or three players on Wissa if they get him.”
