The Premier League Should present a new LGBTQ+ campaign after ending her partnership with Stonewall, the charity organization behind the generally recognized initiative Rainbow Nocken.
Stonewalls Rainbow Nocken-Bampagne, which was launched in 2013, became an integral part of English football. Players of all Premier League clubs wore rainbow colors and captains who attract rainbow bracelets to promote acceptance and equality. The campaign aimed to support LGBTQ+ rights and to promote inclination among fans and young people.
After more than a decade of cooperation, the league will now lead its own campaign, which is summarized in February with the LGBTQ+ History month. The Telegraph Report.
“Rainbow Nocken has benefited from a large number of partners with a natural ebb and river that reflect cultural and sporting changes,” said a Stonewall spokesman BBC Sport.
“In addition to other sports bodies, the FA has made a significant contribution to promoting the LGBTQ+ decores on the basis, and in recent times the women’s Super League has taken up the coat than the women’s play has grown – and it enables rainbow laces reaching a more diverse audience.”
Despite the efforts of Stonewall, the latest reports from Kick It Out show an alarming increase in discriminatory incidents in football, including the increase in sexism, transthobia and abuse of faith, although racism continues to be the most common topic.
Controversy to the settings of the players into rainbow arm tape have also made headlines. Last season, the captain of Ipswich, Sam Morsy, refused to wear one due to religious beliefs, while Marc Guéhi was criticized by Crystal Palace, to personalize his bracelet with the expression “I love Jesus”.
In addition, Manchester United scraped plans for LGBTQ+ Support jackets after a player refused to participate.
Without open gays or bisexual players in the Premier League and the increase in discriminatory incidents, some question the time of separation from Stonewall – an organization that is highly regarded for their work in LGBTQ+ sponsors.
Details of the new campaign of the Premier League are still under the closure, but if the “Reset” league presses, there is hope that it will introduce a meaningful and effective initiative that promotes equality and does not undermine.
