He played in five games for Burnleys Under-21 games, with each of his outings coming in the Premier League Cup.

The versatile winger – able to play on both flanks – scored in a 4-1 victory against reading.

While he provided support in his two games against Luton.

But unfortunately it wasn’t enough for the young person to convince Burnley to keep him, and Mendes, one of 13 U21 players who had shown the door.

According to Hull Live, however, the former star of the Cruzeiro Academy was recorded by the Tigers.

It was said that Mendes will be Hulls U21 setup at the Burton College Bishop.

The transfer means that Mendes has more time to adapt to the colder climate of the United Kingdom – something he revealed was a challenge to get used to it.

What did Joao Mendes say about life in England?

In February he said with ESPN and said, “At first it is difficult not to deny that.

“Even more in winter and here, as it is in the north, it’s a bit worse.

“If you put on a glove, two socks, we can make it.”

For Mendes, however, he is interested in creating his own way in the game instead of comparing with his famous father, who won the Ballon d’Or in 2005, and the World Cup with Brazil in 2002.

Mendes followed in Ronaldinho’s footsteps by joining Barcelona – the club that his father won two Laliga titles and the Champions League.

And while many soccer players are leaving besides themselves to leave Barca for Mendes, it was an opportunity to get out of his father’s shadow.

He noticed: “I want to be Joao, regardless of anything.

“I never tried to be my father, I never wanted to be my father.

“So a little bit of where he played [Barcelona] And what is nearby, I think it was a good start and a good step for me.

“I think people want to be something that you will never be, whether you like it or not, is it good to be here.

“My father was one of the best, if not the best that the game has ever played. As his son, it is a source of pride.

“I try to do my own thing, I try not to put my father in the middle of things, I try to play my football without pressure.”

Mendes will not be the only player in Hull’s academy who is the son of a famous footballer.

The son of the former England and Everton star Phil Jagielka’s son Zac is part of Hulls Setup, and the teenager is a striker in contrast to a central defender like his old man.
