Wayne Rooney ‘devastated’ after death of boxing legend Ricky Hatton


Wayne Rooney shared his friend and boxing legend Ricky Hatton after the tragic news of his death at the age of only 46, shared an emotional homage to his girlfriend and boxing legend.

Hatton, a former world champion boxer, was found dead on September 14th in his house in Manchester.

Although the cause of death was not announced, the police have confirmed that it is not treated as suspicious.

The 39 -year -old Rooney had a close friendship with Hatton after having brought his belts into the ring in 2007 before Hatton’s victory over Jose Luis Castillo in Las Vegas. The Wayne Rooney ShowHe reflected on the devastating loss.

“Ricky was such a good boy and a good person,” said Rooney. “He caught the heart of the nation. The support he had was incredible and people followed him everywhere.”

Rooney pressed his condolences and said: “I want to express my condolences to my family and everyone who was very close to his family and everyone who was very close.”

The former striker of Manchester United and England announced that shortly after playing in a Legends exhibition game for Manchester United in South Korea, he received the news of Hatton’s death.

“It has not yet occurred fully,” added Rooney. “It is devastating. Heart tearing.”

Rooney was not the only footballer who paid tribute to the Hatton who held two weight classes in two weight class and world weight-in during his glittering career in the ring in the ring.

Jack Grialish, who divided his condolences on Instagram, described the boxing legend a “true legend” and “absolute diamond” every time they met.

“Such sad news,” wrote Geralish. “My thoughts go to his family and friends. Ripp Hitman.”

Roy Keane, Micah Richards and countless others from the football world also expressed their grief, as did Tyson Fury from the boxing community. Instagram shared his grief of the heavyweight champion and said: “Rip to the legend @rickyhatton May he ribs. There will always be 1 Ricky Hatton. I can’t believe that, so young.”
