Raheem Sterling ‘treated so badly’ by Chelsea as calls for PFA to intervene emerge

Raheem Sterling ‘Bomb Squad’ treatment can have serious consequences for the mental health of exile Chelsea Star.

This is the belief in the moderator of Talksport Gabbby Agbonlahor, who asked PFA, to intervene in the situation of the English international.

On Monday evening, Sterling put the dark reality of being one of the Chelsea bomb squad when he trained alone at 8 p.m.

A day later, Enzo Maresca’s squad of the first team in Germany was depicted before the opening game of the League of the Champions League against Bayern Munich.

Sterling could not remove a summer train from Stamford Bridge after a move to Fulham did not come into play.

The 30-year-old, who was loaned in Arsenal last season, was also interested in Crystal Palace and West Ham, but was ultimately made.

Sterling’s preference was connected in another team of London, but it is now four months without football before the window is opened again.

Chelsea boss Maresca has already found that the former English international will return to the fold.

This means that Sterling, who is under contract by 2027, is forced to train empty training levels at Cobham’s at night.

During a detailed discussion about the talk sports breakfast, Alan Brazil admitted that the current situation of the wing player was not correct.

His co-moderator Agbonlahor continued that Chelsea’s treatment of sterling is the reason why fans should agree with people like Alexander Isak and Yoane Wissa to secure transfers when you consider how clubs act when the shoe is on the other foot.

“I saw it in Aston Villa with players,” Agbonlahor told Talksport, “I remember that there was a bomb squad under Paul Lambert who had to train alone.

“The players had the feeling: ‘Oh, I can’t talk to the Bomb Squad group. I don’t want to be caught how to talk to them.’ They feel so low.

“The last season was not in his best season for Raheem Sterling. 17 Premier League games for Arsenal, only four starts, no goals, two templates. But he is only 30 years old, Raheem Sterling now.

“82 England Caps, 20 goals, four Premier League titles, five League Cups, a FA Cup. And he trains alone and is treated so badly by the manager.

“This is the problem that I have with some fans because they want to moan and go through players like Isak like Wissa. But if a club doesn’t want them, they will treat them like absolute garbage.

“You will have them trained at that time. You will make them sit in the changing room alone, away from their teammates.

“What about Raheem Sterling mental health? What about [Axel] Disasis mental health? “

“Money is not everything”

Sterling came from Manchester City in July 2022 for a fee of £ 47.5 million to Chelsea and made 81 appearances.

He was the first explanation that had signed after Todd Boehly and Clearlake Capital, but his high wages meant that the club made it clear that they wanted to unload him this summer.

His salary, which is over £ 300,000 a week, has become another sticking point in his relationship with the fans.

“Because he deserves £ 325,000 a week, is it okay?” Agbonlahor argued.

“Money is not everything – Sterling deserves £ 300,000 a week with his mental health or his own training.

“At this type of time they were taken away from their teammates, they are closely with. They are used to coming at 9 a.m. and training with their teammates at 10 a.m.

“I don’t like anything. What damage will Raheem Sterling lead to training with this Chelsea team?

“Why can’t he be on the opposite side if you make form? Do you know what I mean? It just doesn’t sit right with me.”

Brazil also suggested that another possibility would be that Sterling could be kept away from the changing room if it were a bad apple.

However, Agbonlahor rightly pointed out that he is not this kind of player because he looked after many young players during his career.

Chelsea even referred to Sterling’s leadership qualities during a function on her website with the title “A positive influence”.

Agbonlahor emphasized: “He is not like that, boy [to disrupt the dressing room] – – I like managers who do the player don’t like.

“Maresca, you are better than that. Think of the mental health of the players.

“Money is not everything. Raheem Sterling, who earns £ 350,000 a week, has nothing to do with him and where he is going.

“People will throw it out of it. I can now imagine that people listen:” Oh, you know, he only has £ 300,000 a week. “

Pfa asked himself to intervene via Chelsea Bomb Squad

In August 2024, the Professional Footballers’ Association (PFA) announced that it was urging the clubs to no longer use the use of Bomb teams.

Three years ago, FIFA updated its regulations in Article 14 (2) to the state that a player is forced to train alone can lead to a club “improper behavior”.

Agbonlahor has now joined the growing calls to ask the Pfa, the Players’ Union in England, to step and to help stars like Sterling.

“It’s just not right,” he continued. “And I know that many players have happened in many football clubs.

“That’s why there is no loyalty in football. Because if a player wants to go and wants to make the excitement to get out of a football club, the fans say:” How shocking it is. How can you dare? You are contractual. ‘

“If an association doesn’t want her, Alan, he will do everything to get them out of this football club. They want them to be down in the dump, so you just go.

“I’m just glad I played when I played because it is just ridiculous.

“Certainly the PFA can do something about it. You have to come in. I am sure you have to have more than five or six players. I have to check that. You could just go home if you wanted.

“There must be a certain number of players with whom they train. I think that’s a rule that clubs have to have.

“Perhaps you use some of the younger boys, the U18 boys with whom you could train, the U21 boys.

“But also Alan, sometimes when it happened in the villa, I saw the older players who kick the young players. Because you have lost your head when you are in the bomb square.

“You have to train with these under the age of 18 who are there, they are hungry to be successful. And they run past you and you only kick them. I saw that all the time.”
