Transfer Notebook: Maguire wants new Man United deal, Nottingham Forest make Postecoglou plan, Liverpool keen on £75m Semenyo

Harry Maguire wants to stay at Manchester United – but will likely have to take a hefty wage package to do so.

Maguire’s Man United contract expires at the end of the season until he turns 33.

The England international has expressed his desire to extend his seven-year stay at Old Trafford.

However, with the Red Devils’ minority owners Ineos looking to reduce the wage bill, it is highly unlikely he will be offered the same salary he now earns of around £190,000 a week.

At the end of the season, Maguire will have played around 200 Premier League games for United but is no longer a guaranteed starter.

Nottingham Forest’s Ange Postecoglou backup plan

Marco Silva’s future at Fulham is back in balance.

Silva is in the final year of his contract at Craven Cottage and has suitors from the Premier League, Saudi Arabia and across Europe.

Talksport understands the Portuguese are on Nottingham Forest’s want list if they decide to make an early start to Ange Postecoglou’s tenure.

Silva led Olympiacos to the Greek title in 2016 under Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis and the pair have maintained a good relationship.

While he is seen as difficult to pry away from Craven Cottage, Forest’s interest puts the ex-Hull, Everton and Watford boss back in the spotlight.

Silva, who has rejected several lucrative offers from the Saudi Pro League, has been very vocal about Fulham’s lack of transfer business in recent windows.

Silva took on Fulham in the Championship and was awarded the Premier League in his first season as second-tier champions. In three seasons in the top flight, Silva has piloted the Huts to 10th, 13th and 11th place finishes.

Antoine Semenyo wanted by PL Giants

Bournemouth are facing serious interest from England’s biggest clubs in Antoine Semenyo if he can continue his stunning form.

While Bournemouth’s defense was raided by Real Madrid, PSG and Liverpool last season, it was arguably the Cherries’ best deal.

As previously revealed in this notebook, the Ghana International held talks with Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United before settling on a new deal in Dorset.

Both clubs are believed to be continuing to monitor Semenyo’s incredible rise from the EFL to Premier League sensation.

Liverpool sporting director Richard Hughes is also a big admirer of Semenyo, having signed him from Bristol City for a bargain £10.5million.

Bournemouth believe 25-year-old Semenyo is now worth north of £75million, having already scored six league goals, second only to Erling Haaland, and claiming three assists this season.

Danny Rohl eyes new job after Sheffield Wednesday exit

Former Sheffield Wednesday manager Danny Rohl wants to return to the dugout at the earliest opportunity, Talksport understands.

Rohl left Crisis Club on Wednesday just 12 days before the start of the new EFL season after working wonders to keep them in the Championship last season.

During his stay at Hillsborough, the German was on the radar of several clubs, including Rangers, Southampton and Leicester, but he was handcuffed by a large release clause.

Many of the clubs previously interested in Rohl are now weighing up his options, so the 36-year-old is a name to watch in the coming weeks.
