Transfer Notebook: West Ham could target Man United ace in January, Endrick linked with Premier League loan, Man City target not for sale

Nuno Espirito Santo has made it clear to the West Ham hierarchy that he needs at least three new signings in January, including a striker.

Nuno’s tenure as Hammers head coach didn’t get off to the best start with a 1-1 draw at Everton, followed by a terrible performance in the 2-0 home defeat to Brentford on Monday – live on The Pitch Prospect.

With Niclas Fullkrug injured again, the home team started the game without a recognized No.9 and although they dominated, Callum Wilson was unused as a substitute.

One possible option is Joshua Zirkzee, who has been ruled out of Manchester United and is keen to leave Old Trafford.

West Ham would face Zirkzee’s competition from clubs in Italy, including Roma, who would consider ending Evan Ferguson’s loan from Brighton to bring in a replacement.

Nuno would prefer a target man like Chris Wood and Raul Jimenez.

The Magpies warn the defensive duo are not for sale

Newcastle’s new sporting director Ross Wilson has made extending the contracts of Sven Botman and Tino Livramento a priority.

Wilson was only appointed to the position earlier this month after Newcastle agreed a compensation package with his former club Nottingham Forest.

With the Magpies expecting a quiet January transfer window, The Pitch Prospect has been told Wilson has put the signing of key duo Botman and Livramento at the top of his to-do list.

Central defender Botman, one of the most important signings of the Eddie Howe era, is out of contract in the summer of 2027.

Livramento’s contract now runs until 2028, but Newcastle know that the English full-back is attracting interest from rival clubs such as Manchester City.

Queue forms for Real Madrid ace

According to The Pitch Prospect, Premier League clubs wanting to sign Endrick from Real Madrid would have to pay a sizeable loan fee and cover his salary of around £70,000 a week.

Endrick is exploring the possibility of leaving the Spanish giants in January after becoming frustrated with a lack of game time in the build-up to the World Cup.

West Ham are among the clubs that have shown interest in the 19-year-old Brazil international in recent transfer windows, while clubs such as Aston Villa and Tottenham are also interested in strengthening their attack.

Anyone fighting for the championship needs a hero

TalkSPORT understands Norwich will make club legend Mark Robins a top target if they decide to sack manager Liam Manning.

Manning is coming under increasing pressure as the Canaries, 20th in the Championship table, have won just two of their first 10 games of the season.

In contrast, Stoke coach Robins has lifted the Potters to third place, just three points from an automatic promotion place ahead of the midweek games.

The 55-year-old was part of the Norwich side that finished third in the inaugural Premier League season in 1993 and then beat Bayern Munich in the UEFA Cup.

Whether he would be willing to leave Stoke and return to Carrow Road is debatable.
