Premier League clubs face a setback next summer when it comes to Michael Olise.
Contrary to popular belief, the winger does not contain an exit clause in his contract with FC Bayern Munich.

The German giant’s sporting director Max Eberl has confirmed in an interview that there is no release clause, meaning anyone who wants to get him out of Allianz will have to fork out a huge sum of money.
Eberl said: “The contract is valid until June 2029, there is no release clause and Olise is on his way to becoming one of the world’s best players.”
Bayern signed Olise from Crystal Palace in the summer of 2024 for £50 million.
At this point they also faced competition from many top-class teams, but the France international decided to move to Bayern.
It proved to be a wise decision as he helped them win the Bundesliga title last year and developed a good understanding with Harry Kane.
The duo have scored 15 goals between them, with Vincent Kompany’s side making light work of virtually everyone this year.
So it’s no surprise that he’s been linked with a return to the Premier League, but given the price Bayern paid, they’d probably be looking at double that now.
Olise’s development
There were signs at Crystal Palace that this was a player who could make it to the top.
Olise’s ability to cross inside on a cut and shoot from the left was a top weapon for the Eagles, and he has improved even further at Bayern.
The London-born French international has scored 26 goals and 29 assists in 66 Bayern games.
This season he has been just as good at scoring as he has been creating, with Bayern winning every game so far this year.
It’s a really ridiculous run they’re on, and Olise plays a big part.
In the 11 games he has played, the 23-year-old has scored six goals and six assists.
We are now talking about a player who is forcing his way into discussions with the best right wingers in the world.

Olise: What was said?
Unsurprisingly, Olise’s teammates at club and country adore him and expect big things from the striker.
Serge Gnabry recently spoke about Olise and said: “He has enormous potential and is one of the best players in the world at the moment. I don’t know what his limits are!”
“Michael can achieve anything. He can play centrally, keep the ball and is a good one-on-one player.”
“I didn’t know him that well and I didn’t expect it to be like this. Maybe it doesn’t seem like it sometimes, given the way he presents himself, but he has a very good attitude.”
“Michael works hard, he’s a very good boy, very determined. That’s why I think he still has a lot of potential.”

And of course his manager believes he can be one of the best in the world.
“I definitely expect him to get even better. I’ve seen the development of talents like him many times.
“The most important thing is what they do every day in training. I see complete calm in Michael.
“He’s coming to us because he wants to get even better. He’s won for the first time now, but he has to keep going.”
“I hope that he can make further progress and that the Bayern fans will enjoy him for a long time to come.”
And Kompany is in no hurry to see him go.
“We generally don’t talk about contract details. Our goal is for Michael to stay at FC Bayern for a long time. He is an exceptional talent.”
And given this latest news, that could be the case.
