World Cup draw LIVE: Tuchel reacts as England drawn with Croatia in favourable group but Scotland to face Brazil

“A chance for revenge”

Scotland coach Steve Clarke is happy with his side’s World Cup draw despite being drawn alongside Brazil.

They will also face Haiti and Morocco in the group stage.

It’s Scotland’s first World Cup since 1998 and, coincidentally, they played and lost against both Brazil and Morocco.

“Good draw for us,” Clarke began on The Pitch Prospect. “We didn’t want European teams, we wanted teams from other continents, that’s what the World Cup is about, we did it.”

He added: “We have Brazil and Morocco in the group, this is a chance for revenge on both teams and hopefully we can take advantage of it.”

On the first game, Clarke added: “I think it’s important not to take Haiti lightly as they won the qualifying group.”

“It shows that they are a pretty good team. We know that in a World Cup every game is important and we need the necessary points.”

“But I have a group of players who really want to do that…You have to have confidence in your players’ abilities, so we’re going there with the determination to play well in every single game.”
