Mo Salah is unlikely to play for Liverpool in their Premier League home game against Brighton this weekend.
Salah paid the price for his explosive victory over coach Arne Slot by staying home for a much-needed 1-0 Champions League victory at Inter Milan on Tuesday.

Last season’s Premier League Player of the Year also claimed he would say goodbye to Liverpool fans after the Brighton game.
As previously reported by The Pitch Prospect, Liverpool management have thrown their full support behind coach Slot.
It was a board decision in collaboration with Slot not to bring Salah to Italy.
With the Egyptian set to take part in the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations with his country until December 15, his participation in Saturday’s game is at stake.
Focus will then turn to Salah’s long-term future at Anfield, with several Saudi Pro League clubs and a number of MLS sides monitoring developments.
Spurs want Bissouma out after the last offensive
Tottenham are ready to release Yves Bissouma in January.
Bissouma faces disciplinary action from Spurs after footage emerged showing him inhaling nitrous oxide for the second time in as many seasons.
The Mali international had already clashed with coach Thomas Frank after he was excluded from Spurs’ Super Cup defeat to PSG for turning up late to training.
Bissouma, who made a £25m move from Brighton, was later left out of Tottenham’s Champions League squad and hasn’t played a single minute all season.
Galatasaray remain interested in the 29-year-old after a potential move to the Turkish giants fell through last summer.

No promises in West Ham’s striker search
West Ham’s hopes of signing goal machine Promise David from Union Saint-Gilloise are fading.
The 24-year-old Canadian international, who is no relation to Juventus striker Jonathan, has become one of Europe’s most sought-after strikers after scoring an impressive 25 goals in 49 league games.
The Hammers want to bring in the 6ft 5in David, nicknamed “Baby Lukaku,” in January to replace the wantaway Niclas Fullkrug.
However, sources have told The Pitch Prospect that he would not be willing to swap the Champions League for a Premier League relegation battle.
That means it’s likely back to the drawing board for the Hammers, who have promised coach Nuno Espirito Santo reinforcements in several positions.
The Hammers currently sit 18th in the Premier League table and are struggling to score goals on a regular basis. Callum Wilson, Jarrod Bowen and Lucas Paqueta are the club’s joint top scorers this season with four goals each in all competitions.

The Blues bosses are fighting to keep the boss
Chelsea owner BlueCo could face a battle to keep Strasbourg coach Liam Rosenior.
Rosenior took over Strasbourg after being sacked by Hull after narrowly missing out on a place in the play-offs, and led them into the Conference League last season.
Despite a mini-run of three games without a win in Ligue 1, Rosenior is on the radar of several Premier League clubs, including his former club Fulham.
BlueCo sees Rosenior as capable of competing at the highest level and fended off interest from Southampton and Leicester in the summer.
However, when a top club comes to visit, it may not be so easy to persuade them to stay.
