Ake has played seven Premier League games this season but has only been named in Pep Guardiola’s starting XI once.

The Dutchman wants to play more regularly in the run-up to the World Cup.

Ake played more than 100 Premier League games for Bournemouth before joining Man City for £41 million in the summer of 2020.

The Cherries want a new central defender. Marcos Senesi will leave the club at the end of the season after rejecting numerous contract offers.

Crystal Palace also have Ake on their radar as they look to strengthen their squad for the second half of the season and prepare for the impending departure of Marc Guehi.

United are eyeing an £87million teenager

Manchester United are the latest club to keep an eye on Leipzig young star Yan Diomande.

The 19-year-old Ivory Coast-born star was still playing semi-professional soccer in America in 2024.

Diomande has now become one of the most sought-after players in Europe, prompting Leipzig to put an £87m bounty on his head.

United have identified Diomande as a potential target if they fail to sign Antoine Semenyo, but would not pursue their interest in the Bundesliga player until the summer.
