According to The Pitch Prospect, Tottenham Hotspur and Santos have reached an agreement in principle for Brazilian left-back Souza.
The total package for the 19-year-old is estimated at €15m (£13m).

Souza is expected to fly to north London this weekend or early next week at the latest and undergo a medical examination.
The Brazilian will join Tottenham on a five-year contract.
He will also be the club’s first signing in the January window.
Souza’s impending arrival will provide Tottenham with much-needed support on the left side of defense.
Regular left-back Destiny Udogie has not played since December 2nd and is out with a hamstring injury.
Djed Spence, a right-back, had to fill in on the left side of the back four in Udogie’s absence.
Although Udogie remains sidelined, Tottenham coach Thomas Frank has received a defensive boost thanks to the return of Ben Davies, who suffered a hamstring injury while on international duty with Wales last October.
Souza has made just 38 first team appearances for Santos, including 29 last season.
Tim Vickery’s expert opinion on Souza
However, as South American football expert Tim Vickery noted on The Pitch Prospect’s Hawksbee and Baker show, the teenager has amassed a wealth of experience that belies his youthful age given the expectations of the Santos fan base.
Asked if Souza would be a good deal for Tottenham, Vickey replied: “Great deal. I like it a lot, a good left-back.”

“Physically strong, skilled, a good footballer. Can defend, can attack.”
“His first season was really difficult because Santos was fighting against relegation.
“That’s a difficult question, Santos, because you have all the history and tradition of Pelé.
“It’s a small city in Brazil, so they’re really up against it. It’s a tough support base to play in front of and he did really, really well.”
“It seems he wants Tottenham and I would be very happy if he was there, maybe not straight away.”
“Ancelotti has him on his radar as a left-back for Brazil, so I think he’s very, very promising.”
