The London City Lionesses are expected to look to sign two-time Ballon d’Or winner Alexia Putellas.
The 31-year-old currently plays for Barcelona but his contract expires in the summer.

However, there is an option to extend this contract for another year.
Putellas was spotted at Hayes Lane on Sunday to watch WSL side London City Lionesses’ 2-1 defeat to Man City.
Less than 24 hours ago, she helped Barca beat Real Madrid 2-0 and win the Spanish Women’s Super Cup.
The Pitch Prospect’s Shebahn Aherne revealed she has heard a game-changing signing is expected from the London City Lionesses.
Speaking on Weekend Sports Breakfast, she said: “We’re talking about Trinity Rodman. She signed off from Washington Spirit, a company owned by Michelle Kang, for a salary of $2 million a year. Absolutely incredible.”
“But I’ve heard rumors that London City, also owned by Michelle Kang, are expected to make a game-changing signing.
“Well, they’ve already done that, haven’t they? They’ve pushed the envelope quite a bit and added some big players.
But I think we’re talking about being worthy of the Ballon d’Or. Ballon d’Or winner, two-time Ballon d’Or winner, if it’s that person.”
The career of Alexia Putellas
Putellas is widely regarded as one of the greatest footballers of all time.
She won the Ballon d’Or Feminin in 2021 and 2022 and received numerous individual awards.

The 31-year-old is world champion with Spain and has won the Nations League twice.
The only title that has eluded her at international level is the European Championship, where she lost to England in the 2025 final.
With Barcelona she is a nine-time champion and three-time Champions League winner.
London City Lionesses
London City Lionesses were founded just six years ago.
They parted ways with Millwall, split up, formed their own team and played their home games at Hayes Lane in Bromley.
The FA allowed Millwall’s championship license to be transferred, allowing them to compete in the second division as a fully independent team with no male counterparts.
In 2023, instability struck the club, leading to billionaire Michele Kang purchasing the club in December of that year.
She is worth $1.2 billion according to Forbes and worked at several successful companies before founding and later selling the health technology company Cognosante.
It also owns the Washington Spirit and Olympique Lyonnais and also invests in the U.S. Soccer Federation’s women’s and girls’ programs.
