Jhon Duran has joined Russian giants Zenit Saint Petersburg on loan after leaving Fenerbahce.
The striker was loaned to Turkey from parent club Al Nassr for a season.

However, Duran has ended his time at Fenerbahce and is moving to Zenit until the end of the season.
His temporary move does not include an option to make the contract permanent in the summer.
Zenit is currently in second place in the Russian Premier League, one point behind leaders Krasnodar.
Duran could make his debut in his new club’s first game after the winter break on February 27 at home against Baltika.
The 11-time Russian champion had won six consecutive league titles before being eliminated last season.
Meanwhile, Zenit also won the UEFA Cup in 2008 but have not played in Europe since 2022 due to Russia being banned by UEFA after invading Ukraine.
It is the third new club for Duran since he left Aston Villa for Al Nassr in January 2025.
He moved to Fenerbahce just six months after signing a five-and-a-half year contract with the Saudi Arabian Pro League club.
Duran scored five goals in 21 appearances for the club after his start to the season was marred by injury.
The 22-year-old was out for two months due to a bone injury.

He also missed Fenerbahce’s last two games before moving to Zenit due to a thigh problem.
The Pitch Prospect verdict on Jhon Duran
European football journalist Andy Brassell summarized Duran’s time in Turkey in December.
Speaking exclusively to The Pitch Prospect, he explained: “Much of his season so far has been disrupted by injuries, but I think if you’re a Villa fan you already know the story.”
“When he’s good, he looks better than everyone else. When he’s not good, you really scratch your head.”
“So I suspect Jhon Duran is not in a significantly different position than he was when he left Villa because we have seen him influence some big games in a very positive way.”
“His first goal for Fenerbahce was the equalizer in the 95th minute in the Intercontinental derby against Galatasaray. There is nothing that can make you more popular.”

“We’re talking about Gazza scoring points for Lazio against Roma in the Rome derby. Something like that.”
“That one goal covers a lot of sins, I suppose, but when Jhon Duran plays well he is so incredibly convincing.”
Duran scored 20 goals in 78 appearances for Villa over two years in England, before finding the net 12 times in 18 games for Al Nassr.
The Colombia international will be looking to recapture that goalscoring form after joining the sixth club of his professional career.
