According to The Pitch Prospect, Lewis Dunk turned down a move to Nottingham Forest in the final week of the transfer window.
Out of respect for their captain, Brighton made the offer to Dunk, but he stressed his commitment to the Seagulls.

The England international would have received a significant pay rise by moving to the City Ground.
Forest will travel to the south coast on March 1 to face Fabian Hurzeler’s side in the Premier League.
Dunk has spent his entire senior career at Brighton, joining the club’s academy at the age of 12.
Since then, the 34-year-old has achieved promotion with his boyhood club in both League One and the Championship.
He has now played a key role in nine consecutive Premier League seasons.
These campaigns also include the club’s highest league finish to date, sixth place, in the 2022/23 season.
As a result, Brighton qualified for European football for the first time and reached the round of 16 of the Europa League the following season.
Dunk has made 510 appearances for the Seagulls, including 290 in the Premier League.
The defender, who was named captain in 2019, signed a new contract in December until the end of next season.
Brighton are currently 14th in the Premier League, eight points clear of the relegation zone.

As for Forest, alongside their European successes, Sean Dyche’s side are also embroiled in a relegation battle.
Friday’s away defeat to Leeds leaves them just three points ahead of 18th-placed West Ham.
Meanwhile, Forest face Fenerbahce home and away in the Europa League knockout play-off this month.
Having failed to sign Dunk, the two-time European Cup winners were unable to sign a new centre-back before the transfer deadline last week.
Instead, Dyche had to settle for just three new signings during the January transfer window.
Italian striker Lorenzo Lucca was signed on loan from Napoli, along with permanent deals for Luca Netz and Stefan Ortega.

However, an injury to Murillo against Leeds gave Forest a selection headache at centre-back.
However, Nikola Milenkovic, Morato, Jair Cunha, Willy Boly and Zach Abbott remain options for Dyche.
