A shock move for Alexis Mac Allister from Liverpool to Manchester United is considered highly unlikely, according to The Pitch Prospect.
Reports circulated on Monday that the Red Devils were considering a surprise attack on their bitter rivals for the World Cup star.

While the 27-year-old is believed to be a player United have been monitoring, it is understood that no deal will be struck.
Since Ted Savage in 1937, no player has made the direct move from Anfield to Old Trafford.
Mac Allister, who moved from Brighton to Liverpool in a £55m package deal in 2023, is tied to Merseyside until 2028.
He has suffered from a dip in form this season, providing just two assists in 25 Premier League games.
And there were even calls for Mac Allister to be dropped by Reds boss Arne Slot because of his problems.
Ex-winger Jermaine Pennant told The Pitch Prospect’s Inside Liverpool show after the defeat to Manchester City: “Listen, we love you, you were a great player for Liverpool, you were a great player, you’re a great player, you were in the team of the season.”
“I pointed out that after your injury in pre-season you have returned to just a shadow of what you were; it seems as if your legs have disappeared.”
“In there [Man City] He was a spectator in the truest sense of the word, he didn’t get involved at all.
Man United’s move for Mac Allister is unlikely to happen but the Red Devils are likely in the market for a midfielder.
United will say goodbye to Casemiro at the end of the season. The veteran announced last month that he was leaving the club.

Extremely unlikely move
As previously mentioned, no player has made a direct move from Liverpool to Man United since Savage in 1937.
In fact, there have only been eight transfers between the two clubs in their entire history.
The most recent such move was Phil Chisnall joining the Reds from their bitter rivals in 1964.
Tom McNulty had made the same move ten years earlier, while Tom Reid, Tom Miller and Tom Chorlton all moved from Liverpool to Man United between 1912 and 1920.
Fred Hopkin and Jackie Sheldon moved from United to Liverpool in 1921 and 1913 respectively.
The bitter historical rivalry between the two clubs has certainly had a major impact on their dealings with one another.

Arsenal manager Gabriel Heinze learned how difficult it is to move between clubs in 2007 when he played for Man United and tried to move to Liverpool.
“I can assure you that Liverpool will not sign Gabriel Heinze,” said manager Alex Ferguson. “We can get this under control now and we have.”
The player even sought legal advice because he was denied a transfer, but ultimately was unable to prevail.
When will Liverpool next play Man United?
Next up for Liverpool and Mac Allister is a game against Premier League club Nottingham Forest.
They play at the City Ground on Sunday at 2pm.
Meanwhile, Man United prepare to take on Everton next Monday, exclusively live on The Pitch Prospect.
As for the next time they face each other, they will have to wait a few more months to renew their rivalry.
The Reds are scheduled to travel to Old Trafford on May 2nd in what will be the fourth-to-last game of the season.
In their first meeting earlier this season, United picked up three points in a 2-1 win at Anfield thanks to Harry Maguire.
