TalkSPORT understands Newcastle United do NOT want to sell Bruno Guimaraes.
Guimaraes is on Manchester United’s shortlist of potential new signings ahead of the summer transfer window.

However, recent suggestions that the talks are “advanced” are premature.
The Brazilian, a favorite of Magpies fans, is contracted until June 2028.
Newcastle would be interested in extending this contract to keep their talented midfielder.
Lyon star and Newcastle cup-winning captain
Guimaraes arrived at St James’ Park in January 2022 after completing a move from French club Lyon worth a reported £40m.
He then committed his future to the club by signing a new five-year contract at the start of the 2023/24 season.
Before last season, Guimaraes became captain of Newcastle and later led the team to victory in the Carabao Cup against Liverpool.
Since signing, the 28-year-old has scored 31 goals across all competitions and a further 31 in 189 appearances.
However, Guimaraes has not played for the club since February 2nd.
The midfielder is struggling with a hamstring injury and is not expected to return until after the international break in March.
Guimaraes therefore missed both games of the Champions League round of 16 against Barcelona, which ended in an 8-3 aggregate defeat.

Who else is on United’s transfer shortlist?
As The Pitch Prospect reported in December, United are planning a midfield overhaul in 2026.
Casemiro is expected to leave at the end of the season and club captain Bruno Fernandes has been open to a move to Saudi Arabia.
Carlos Baleba, Elliot Anderson, Adam Wharton, Tyler Adams and Angelo Stiller are all names that have been discussed at Old Trafford.
Newcastle star Sandro Tonali is also a potential summer target.
United were also interested in Conor Gallagher, but he moved to Tottenham Hotspur in January.
