French President Emmanuel Macron in desperate Real Madrid plea as he begs them to release Kylian Mbappe for Olympics

Emmanuel Macron has all but confirmed Kylian Mbappe’s transfer to Real Madrid – as he begged them to allow him to take part in the Olympics.

The French president is desperate for his country’s star player to play for the Les Bleus national team at the upcoming games in Paris this summer.

Mbappe is expected to join Real Madrid once he leaves Paris Saint-Germain.

Mbappe announced on Friday evening that he would be leaving Paris Saint-Germain on a free transfer at the end of the season after deciding against signing a new contract.

The 25-year-old, who is France’s captain, is understood to have verbally agreed to join Los Blancos, where he is expected to earn £13million a year in Spain.

And this transfer has now apparently been confirmed by Macron in a video in which the politician posted X.

In the upload published online, Macron called on Real to allow Mbappe to take part in the Olympics, which would impact his preparations for the season at his new club.

Real has already written to the French Football Federation saying it will not allow any of its players to represent the nation at the tournament.

But Macron hopes a direct message to the Champions League finalists will help change their minds.

Addressing viewers’ questions in the clip, Macon said: “I’m counting on Real Madrid to release Kylian for the Olympics so he can come and play with the French team.”

Earlier this week, Macron echoed similar thoughts, noting: “Will Mbappe play with France at the Olympics? I hope so.”

“In any case, I put maximum pressure on his so-called future club.”

Mbappe will represent France at the European Championships in Germany, which takes place from June 14 to July 11.

And if he is allowed to take part in the Olympics, he could potentially take part from July 24th to August 9th.

With the new football season also starting in August, Mbappe’s possible involvement would likely result in him missing the start of next season and the player having to take a well-deserved break.
