In a statement released on Monday morning, the north Londoners addressed the issue of which of their male, female and academic scholarship holders will not be retained.

And that includes Egyptian international Elneny, who has spent over eight years at Arsenal since his £5 million move from Basel in January 2016.

During his time at the club, he has made 161 appearances in all competitions, mostly as a substitute.

Elneny, an FA Cup winner, also started the 2017 and 2020 Community Shield victories, but was also loaned to Besiktas in between.

He is joined by regular player Cedric Soares, who has been at the club since January 2020 after initially joining on loan from Southampton.

He scored on his debut and the highlight of his 64 appearances will undoubtedly be his winning goal in the 2020 Community Shield penalty shootout win over Liverpool.

And women’s legend Vivianne Miedema is one of three female stars leaving Arsenal, along with goalkeeper Sabrina D’Angelo and Kaylan Marckese.

Dutch striker Miedema established herself as one of England’s best strikers during her seven-year stay, scoring 124 goals in 166 games.

The 22-year-old, who has never played a first-team game for the Gunners, made 40 appearances for the Welsh side and helped them to promotion to League One.

Their Hollywood co-owner Rob McElhenney raved about his influence at the racetrack and said that the young man had skillfully filled the gap left by Ben Foster.

Omari Benjamin, Tyreece John-Jules and Kido Taylor-Hart, who were also highly rated young players, were not offered contract extensions.

Luis Brown, Catalin Cirjan, Noah Cooper, Henry Davies, Ovie Ejeheri, Taylor Foran, Hubert Graczyk, James Hillson, Henry Jeffcott, Alex Kirk, James Lannin-Sweet and Kamarni Ryan complete the departures.

However, Arsenal have announced that they are in talks with Amario Cozier-Duberry, Karl Hein and Reuell Walters about extending their stays beyond June 30.
