Now 24, Sessegnon wants to get his career back on track after a few frustrating years in north London.

If a transfer were to happen, he would like to compete with Tyrick Mitchell in the left wing-back position.

Crystal Palace is looking for reinforcements; Michael Olise is set to move to Bayern Munich for £60 million.

After coming through Fulham’s youth academy, he was quickly promoted to the first team at the age of 16, where he immediately demonstrated his quality.

In his first season, Sessegnon scored seven goals in 31 games and helped Fulham to promotion in the 2017/18 season with 16 goals and eight assists – all before his 18th birthday.

This season he was named Championship Player of the Year and Young Player of the Year and was also named in the Team of the Year.

Sessegnon then scored two goals and provided six assists in his first-ever Premier League season, earning him a move to Tottenham worth around £25 million.

Sessegnon played mainly as a left winger at Fulham, but was suddenly deployed as a left wing-back at Spurs and struggled with his form.

Above all, a persistent series of thigh injuries prevented Sessegnon from showing his best side, and so he only made 57 appearances in five years in north London.

However, in the 2020/21 season, he enjoyed a decent loan spell at German club Hoffenheim, where he made 29 appearances, including five in the Europa League.
