Neal Maupay has revealed that Brentford have not taken up the option to make his loan move from Everton permanent.
The striker was on loan from Everton to Brentford last season.

It was his second spell at the Bees and the Frenchman scored six Premier League goals in 29 games.
The 27-year-old signed for the Brighton Toffees in August 2022, penning a three-year contract.
This means that his current contract at Goodison Park still has one year to run.
Maupay gave an update on his future to The Pitch Prospect Breakfast: “I think it’s pretty simple. I was on loan at Brentford last season. They had an option. They haven’t taken it up yet.”
“So they had until the end of June and then I’ll be back at Everton next week.”
No matter which club he ends up with next season, he is sure to challenge his opponents wherever he goes.
Last season he incurred the wrath of James Maddison by copying his darts celebration, then appeared to reignite their feud by posting a picture in front of a darts board after Maddison was left out of England’s Euro 2024 squad.
Matteo Guendouzi once grabbed Maupay by the neck when he played for Brighton.

But the striker emphasizes that he never plans anything, but that everything just happens.
He added: “No, no, I don’t plan anything. I think sometimes it’s just emotions in a game and it just happens.”
“I don’t try to do that in every game or with certain players. It just happens.”
