Manchester United are ready to cash in on Harry Maguire for the second summer in a row, The Pitch Prospect has learned.
This time last year, the defender almost joined West Ham, but the transfer fell through because he refused to take a pay cut.

Signing a new centre-back is a top priority for the Red Devils and they are very interested in Matthijs de Ligt from FC Bayern Munich. But the English defender’s future is once again uncertain.
Maguire, who has admirers in Italy where his former United teammate Chris Smalling excelled, is in the final year of his contract.
If United cannot find a buyer, they risk losing him on a free transfer next summer.
Former Leicester star Maguire is working on his return to full fitness after missing out on a place in England’s Euro 2024 squad due to injury.
Go nowhere
Newcastle are ready to give Anthony Gordon a lucrative new contract to fend off interest from the Premier League’s big clubs.
Gordon was one of the Magpies’ standout players last season, scoring 11 goals and providing a further 12 assists.
The England international has been the subject of interest from Liverpool, but with the Premier League PSR deadline now past, Newcastle are keen to keep hold of their star players.
Gordon’s current contract has two years left to run and an extension could see him secure a hefty pay rise on his current salary, which is expected to be around £60,000 a week.

Duran-Duran
West Ham have added Aston Villa striker Jhon Duran to their list of summer striker targets.
Villa are open to offers for Duran as he does not play an important role in coach Unai Emery’s plans for the new season.
Chelsea have been trying to sign the Colombian international since the January transfer window.
But despite renewed interest, the Blues have still not managed to sign him.
This could be a deal breaker for West Ham, with new manager Julen Lopetegui keen to add more firepower to his attack.
Duran has scored eight goals in almost 50 games for Villa.

Lars-ting Larsen
The Wolves’ signing of 1.93 m tall Norwegian striker Jorgen Strand Larsen will not remain temporary for long.
Larsen has moved to Molineux from Celta Vigo, initially on loan with the option of a permanent transfer of £25 million.
However, The Pitch Prospect has learned that 24-year-old Larsen has already agreed to a five-year contract and that the option will become a commitment after just a few appearances.
It is a similar deal to when Wolves signed Matheus Cunha from Atletico Madrid and had to pay £43 million after he had played just three games.
These agreements are intended to help reconcile profit and sustainability rules.
Larsen’s arrival also appears to have ended Wolves’ interest in Scottish striker Che Adams.
