Jose Enrique has undoubtedly achieved great things in his post-playing career, but he will be desperate to forget his recent social media faux pas.
The former Liverpool and Newcastle defender retired in 2017 and has since become a pundit and regular attendee of legends matches, but more importantly, he also works as an agent.

Enrique certainly has a knack for finding new homes for players, which he showcases impressively on social media, but his most recent attempt with Todd Cantwell went a little awry.
A screenshot has surfaced on social media purporting to show Enrique trying to find a new club for Cantwell and Feyenoord’s Marcus Pedersen, but the screenshot was sent to the wrong account.
A parody account of Lecce manager Luca Gotti has created a screenshot sent to the account showing the Spaniard attempting to offer the pair to the real Gotti, but finding the wrong recipient.
“Hi Luca. Hope you are well and it was nice talking to you,” the message says.
“This is Jose Enrique, a former football player and agent.
“I have two players that I think might be of interest to you. Both were signed by me and my brother. Can you give me your opinion? Thank you.”
The messages included links to the players’ transfer market pages and the screenshot quickly spread on social media, much to Enrique’s embarrassment.
Cantwell, a former England youth international who made his name at Norwich, was signed by the Scottish side in 2022 and made an impressive 44 appearances in the 2023/24 season.

Now he may have to pack his bags and head to Italy, but only if the real Luca Gotti understands the message.
