Calafiori is set to become Arsenal’s first summer signing for an initial £34 million in a deal that could rise to as much as £38 million with add-ons.
He has also been excluded from Bologna’s pre-season camp as his move to the Premier League is imminent.
The Italian’s former club, Basel, which he left for Bologna only last summer, is said to receive 50 percent of the transfer profit.

Calafiori joined the Swiss team in 2022 for 2.5 million euros. [£2.1million] Deal that included a 40 percent sell-on clause for a future transfer.
A year later he signed with Bologna for 4 million euros [£3.4million] The transfer, whereby Roma is said to have earned just over 1.5 million euros [£1.3million].
If Calafiori signs for Arsenal, Basel could now pocket 50 percent of Bologna’s transfer fee.

Basel believes that the 1.5 million euros [£1.3million] which was sent to the Italian company when Calafiori was sold is sufficient.
Lawyers are now said to be examining the agreement between Roma and Basel, with the former allegedly “angry” about the latter.
Therefore, Arsenal may have to wait a little longer before they can welcome their man to north London.
