In addition, his move to the Italian club means he will have to accept a significant pay cut compared to his salary at Manchester United.

Last season, Fiorentina finished eighth in the Italian top division and second in the Europa Conference League.

The 33-year-old reportedly earns £375,000 a week at Old Trafford.

The long-time Manchester United goalkeeper was released from Old Trafford in the summer of 2023 after his contract expired.

This happened after contract negotiations between him and Manchester United failed, ending his twelve-year tenure at the club.

Despite rumors of a move to Newcastle and Nottingham Forest, De Gea was without a club for the entire 2023/24 season.

He was originally signed from Atletico Madrid by Man United’s legendary manager Sir Alex Ferguson in 2011.

From there he eventually rose to become the club’s number 1.

De Gea played 545 times for Man United.

During his time there he won the Premier League, the FA Cup and two League Cups.
