Arsenal receive loan offer from Wolves for Aaron Ramsdale with Southampton also keen on goalkeeper

As The Pitch Prospect has learned, Wolves have submitted a loan offer with an option to buy as part of their attempt to sign Aaron Ramsdale.

The Arsenal goalkeeper lost his place as the club’s number one to David Raya at the Emirates last season.

Ramsdale could leave Arsenal before the summer transfer window closes.

The 26-year-old is now considered surplus to requirements and the Gunners are ready to let the England international go.

And Ramsdale is reportedly ready for a new adventure on his way to becoming a regular first-team player.

Ramsdale was an unused substitute as Arsenal beat Wolves 2-0 in north London in their first Premier League game of the season.

The Midlands team have now made a loan offer to bring the former Sheffield United goalkeeper to Molineux.

It is understood that the offer includes an option to buy and that Arsenal are demanding a transfer fee of around £25 million.

Should the Gunners pocket that sum, they would make a profit of £1 million after luring him from Bramall Lane in 2021.

Currently, Wolves’ offer to Arsenal is still on the table.

However, Gary O’Neil’s team would cover the majority of Ramsdale’s salary to entice Arsenal to accept.

However, Southampton are believed to remain interested in the goalkeeper – as The Pitch Prospect revealed last month.

And it remains to be seen whether Ajax will make a second offer for the player after a loan offer was rejected last week.

Ramsdale only made six appearances in all competitions last season and did not play a single minute in pre-season.

He may not be the only player leaving Arsenal before the transfer window closes: Nottingham Forest also has Eddie Nketiah on their radar.

The Pitch Prospect told you on Monday that a £25 million offer from Nuno Espirito Santo’s side was rejected.

Arsenal are determined to get a transfer fee in the region of £30-35 million for the Hale End graduate.

Talks are ongoing between Arsenal and Forest regarding the one-capped England international, who was denied a move to Marseille this summer.
