Chelsea could still be a saving grace on deadline day, although Al Ahli have completed deals for Victor Osimhen and Ivan Toney.
The Blues had been in talks to sign Victor Osimhen or Ivan Toney to strengthen their attack.

Neither of the two deals at Stamford Bridge produced a significant breakthrough, allowing the Saudi club to step in.
Now Al Ahli has signed contracts with Osimhen and Toney.
The Saudi Pro League club has agreed £67.3 million with Napoli for Osimhen and £40 million with Brentford for Toney.
Both players must undergo a medical examination before a planned transfer.
However, The Pitch Prospect believes that Al Ahli CANNOT sign both players at this time, despite contracts having been agreed.
The club does not have two free spots to sign foreign players as Roger Ibanez, Riyad Mahrez, Roberto Firmino, Edouard Mendy, Gabri Veiga, Merih Demiral and Franck Kessie are all in the squad.
This means they only have room for one of Osimhen or Toney – not both, unless one of those players leaves.
Whoever Al Ahli sign, it could be a life-saving move for Chelsea on deadline day.
This could open up the possibility for the Blues to negotiate for one of these players. Theoretically, the Saudi Pro League could also allocate one of these players to another club.

The Saudi transfer window doesn’t close until Monday, so there’s still time to get rid of one of these players.
No matter which player Al Ahli signs, the team will have a pretty fearsome attack this season.
Either Osimhen or Toney will be paired with Mahrez and Firmino to form a deadly three-man front three.
For now, Chelsea will have to wait and see who will sign for Al Ahli.
Romelu Lukaku has already moved to Napoli as a replacement for Osimhen, so he is likely to leave the club before the transfer window closes.
Toney, who was not in Brentford’s squad for the first two Premier League games.
Despite only having a year left on his contract, the Bees have been waiting all summer for around £50 million.
They dropped that offer in recent days when Al Ahli accepted a bid of £40 million.
