Caoimhin Kelleher has told Liverpool he wants to leave after the club signed a £30million replacement for his position.
The goalkeeper was Alisson Becker’s backup and it seems that the club has no long-term plans to make him their number one.

This summer, Liverpool signed Giorgi Mamardashvili from Valencia and the 23-year-old will arrive next summer.
Kelleher outlined his ambitions to be number one on a team.
The Reds rejected an offer from Nottingham Forest this summer and the Irish international claimed he had no control over whether he stayed at Anfield.
“I have made it clear over the last few years that I want to be number one and play week in, week out,” said Kelleher before the match against Greece.
“The club has made the decision to bring in another goalkeeper [Giorgi Mamardashvili]From the outside, it looks like they have decided to go in a different direction.
“My ambition has always been clear in recent seasons: I want to be number one and play week after week.
“Sometimes from the outside it looks like the decision is 100 percent mine, but sometimes it’s not always in my hands.”
When asked about his mindset for the summer, he said: “My mission was to go out and play and be number one.”
“It has been reported that Liverpool have also rejected some offers. It is not always in my hands to make the decision. My goal is to prove that I am good enough to play week in week out.”
With Mamardashvili not arriving until next summer, it may be difficult to consider a move away from Liverpool in the winter transfer window.

“To be honest, I’m not sure. It was a quick turnaround as the window closed last week. Over the summer, some bids were rejected,” he said.
“I don’t know if this will be brought up again in January. These discussions will have to take place in the coming months, but in the next few months I will be committed to Liverpool.”
The 25-year-old has played 47 times for Liverpool and won the Champions League, FA Cup, UEFA Super Cup and two League Cups.
Kelleher will play for Ireland in their Nations League match against Greece on Tuesday evening.
Liverpool number one Alisson rejected interest from Saudi Arabia this summer to stay at Anfield.
The club’s signing of a long-term replacement player could be an indication that a move elsewhere is imminent.
Former Liverpool midfielder Danny Murphy told The Pitch Prospect: “They are planning ahead. I don’t know what’s going on with Alisson but it seems like they are actively looking for a replacement for him.”

“I was lucky to see him [Mamardashvili] at the Euros and he was incredible. Great presence, good goalkeeper and good with his feet. I think it’s a great deal to get him.
“He is a super goalkeeper.”
Former Crystal Palace owner Simon Jordan added: “I didn’t think a £30m goalkeeper would be a priority. It’s not a huge amount, but it’s not a small amount either.”
