Ruud van Nistelrooy is reportedly planning a move for one of Manchester United’s young stars as his attention turns to the January transfer window.
Van Nistelrooy will draw on his short time at the helm of Man United and now set his sights on a young player with ‘crazy’ stats.

Having already made a successful start to his time at Leicester City, United’s rising star Toby Collyer is the former United manager’s target in the new year.
Van Nistelrooy led his team to a 3-1 win over West Ham on Tuesday and is already looking at ways to improve as the Foxes battle to avoid relegation.
According to The Sun, the Dutch coach is interested in signing 20-year-old Collyer on loan in the January transfer window.
The former Manchester United striker knows Collyer, having worked closely with him during his time as Erik ten Hag’s assistant.
Van Nistelrooy believes the talented midfielder could be a valuable asset to Leicester’s fight for Premier League survival.
Collyer, who joined United’s academy from Brighton two years ago, impressed with his impressive physical attributes, including “crazy” running stats, second only to Bruno Fernandes.
Although United have no intention of selling Collyer, they are reportedly open to a loan deal, especially with a manager they trust to provide him with regular first-team opportunities.
After making his senior debut in the Community Shield against Manchester City in August, Collyer has since appeared in two further senior games, including as a substitute in United’s 3-0 defeat to Liverpool.
Football expert Steve Sidwell has even advised him to follow in the footsteps of fellow young talent Kobbie Mainoo and become a “shining star” at Old Trafford.
With Leicester in need of reinforcements, Van Nistelrooy could make a move for the promising young midfielder in the coming weeks.

Man United’s Collyer began his career in Brighton and Hove Albion’s youth system and made his under-18s debut at the age of 15.
In March 2022 he moved to Man United on a three and a half year deal. His former coach at Brighton praised his running, work ethic and discipline.
He has made three appearances for the senior team, once as a half-time substitute for Casemiro in the Premier League, another time in the Community Shield and once in the EFL Cup.
