Cristiano Ronaldo wants Al Nassr to aim for a January title transfer For Manchester United midfielder Casemiro, a report says.
Ronaldo has entered the final six months of his contract with Al Nassr and is heavily tipped to return to Europe this summer, but he recently called on his current employers to strengthen the squad and close the gap with Al Hilal and Al Ittihad at the top to close the table.
Accordingly The TelegraphRonaldo has expressed a desire to work again with Casemiro, with whom he spent several years at Real Madrid before a brief spell together at United in 2022.
Al Nassr identified Casemiro as a target this month and recently made room for a new foreign player in their squad by selling Seko Fofana to French club Rennes.
United are open to selling Casemiro, who has played a limited role under new head coach Ruben Amorim. The Brazilian, who is one of the club’s top earners, is estimated to be worth just under £30 million.
Meanwhile, Casemiro is also reportedly interested in moving to Saudi Arabia, having first been targeted in the summer by Al Ittihad, who are no longer expected to be in the running to sign him.
The sale of Casemiro would allow United to look for reinforcements in the transfer market this month. Amorim has already admitted that the Red Devils need to sell players before they can recruit new faces, with Casemiro one of a few valuable players in the squad.
Paris Saint-Germain left-back Nuno Mendes is a key target for Amorim and could be joined at Old Trafford by teammate Randal Kolo Muani, who is available on loan.
