According to The Pitch Prospect, Newcastle are considering a summer move to sign Southampton goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale.
The 26-year-old only moved to St Mary’s in August after losing out on the top spot at Arsenal.

However, another transfer could be on the cards for him as Magpies manager Eddie Howe is a huge admirer of the England international.
Rumors have been circulating that the Magpies could move to Ramsdale this month amid a potential departure for Martin Dubravka.
However, it is understood the St James’ Park club do not have the funds to sign the player in the winter transfer window.
It is claimed that Dubravka has agreed a deal to move to Saudi Arabian side Al-Shabab, but Howe is keen to keep him at the club until the summer.
The Slovakian is currently in the final six months of his contract at Newcastle and the club are in danger of losing him on a free transfer.
Meanwhile, the question remains whether injured goalkeeper Nick Pope is the right man for Newcastle.
And this has led to Newcastle considering a move for Ramsdale at the end of the season.
Just last summer, Ramsdale joined forces with Southampton for an initial £18 million.
Should he leave the south coast later this year, it would be his fourth permanent transfer since 2020.
This year he moved to Sheffield United from Bournemouth following the Cherries’ relegation from the Premier League.

Just a year later, he joined the Gunners on a contract that increased to £30 million after failing to help the Blades stay in the top flight.
Ramsdale began the 2021/22 season as a replacement for Bernd Leno but quickly became first choice, where he established himself as a fan favorite at the Emirates.
However, David Raya’s move to Arsenal in 2023 puts Ramsdale’s place between the sticks at risk.
And it quickly became clear that the Spaniard was Mikel Arteta’s No. 1, which resulted in Ramsdale being on the bench for the majority of last season.
Things haven’t gone to plan at Southampton this season, with Ramsdale’s side sitting bottom of the table with just six points from 20 games.
In 13 Premier League games he scored a whopping 27 goals and only kept two clean sheets.
