Omar Marmoush set to receive huge Man City wages

Omar Marmoush is set to become one of Manchester City’s highest-earning players transfer According to German reports, the move from Eintracht Frankfurt has been confirmed.

City’s stunning collapse this season has seen Etihad Stadium officials open the checkbook. Centre-backs Abdukodir Khusanov and Vitor Reis are expected to arrive for over £60m between them, while Juventus right-back Andrea Cambiaso has been linked with a similarly expensive move.

At the other end of the pitch, City have agreed a deal worth an initial £63.4m plus a further £4.2m in bonuses for Marmoush, who was left out of the Frankfurt squad on Friday evening as talks over his departure neared closer conclusion.

That’s a significant outlay, but City have also reportedly promised Marmoush big wages. Sky Sports Germany says he will earn almost £275,000 a week at the Etihad Stadium – a huge increase on his reported salary of £32,000 at Frankfurt.

A figure like that would make Marmoush one of City’s top earners. His main rival for the minutes, Erling Haaland, is top of the charts with a weekly wage of around £500,000 after signing his mammoth new contract.

Kevin De Bruyne, Jack Grealish and Bernardo Silva all reportedly earn over £300,000 a week, with Marmoush’s salary reportedly higher than Phil Foden, Rodri, John Stones and Ilkay Gundogan.

After being left out of Frankfurt’s squad on Friday, Marmoush joined his team’s on-field celebrations, posting a photo on social media after the game with the caption: “Forever in my heart.”
