Tottenham dealt fresh injury blow ahead of Everton clash

Tottenham Hotspur have suffered a fresh injury blow with Dominic Solanke ruled out for Sunday’s Premier League game against Everton.

The 27-year-old, who joined Spurs in the summer on a six-year deal worth a reported £55million, has made a great impression in north London, scoring seven Premier League goals and a further four in all competitions.

Solanke’s overall performance as a central striker has received high praise from Spurs fans despite the club’s recent poor form.

A trip to Goodison Park to face Everton is seen as an ideal opportunity for Ange Postecoglou’s side to reverse a run of success which has seen Spurs win just one of their last nine Premier League games and lose six.

Mailsport However, Solanke will reportedly not be available after suffering a knee injury during or after Wednesday night’s north London derby loss to Arsenal.

There are concerns that Solanke could be sidelined for an extended period – a topic Postecoglou is expected to address as part of his pre-match media duties.

Solanke’s absence adds to an already lengthy injury list, which has played a major role in Spurs’ recent problems. Top-class centre-back duo Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven have been out of action for some time and were recently pushed to the sidelines by left-back Destiny Udogie.

Goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario is also out after breaking a bone in his foot during Spurs’ 4-0 win over Manchester City in November – a win that feels like a lifetime ago for fans as the club are in 15th place the Premier League table.

Rodrigo Bentancur, Wilson Odobert and Timo Werner are three others who will not play a role in the game on Merseyside, with Brennan Johnson and Yves Bissouma also missing.
