Napoli director offers update on interest in Man Utd’s Alejandro Garnacho

Napoli sporting director Giovanni Manna has admitted the club is “ready” to do so Sign a replacement for winger Khvicha Kvaratskhelia in response to links with Manchester United’s Alejandro Garnacho.

Kvaratskhelia joined Paris Saint-Germain last week in a deal worth around €70m (£59.1m) and Napoli are believed to be eyeing Garnacho as their preferred replacement.

Manna was asked specifically whether Napoli will try to lure Garnacho from United. Although he refused to go into details, he admitted that the club is working hard to find a replacement for Kvaratskhelia.

“We are making some assessments, we must not get carried away by the rush,” he said Sky Sports Italy. “There are expectations, we will be ready, but on Napoli’s terms.”

United are not believed to be actively trying to offload Garnacho, whose potential availability has piqued Chelsea’s interest, but would be willing to listen to offers worth around £60m.

This fee is believed to be too high for Napoli, who are seeking a deal worth around £42.2 million Corriere dello Sport.

It is claimed that Napoli ‘will not wait much longer’ for United to compromise on their asking price for Garnacho before pursuing alternative targets. Marcus Rashford has already been discussed as an option, but the Englishman is attracting greater interest from AC Milan and Borussia Dortmund.
