Vinicius Junior speaks out on Real Madrid future after landmark goal


Vinicius Junior has responded to speculation about his future at Real Madrid after another impressive performance in the Champions League, where he scored a hundred goals for the club.

The Brazilian tormented Salzburg in Madrid’s 5-1 Champions League win on Wednesday night, scoring two sensational goals and securing the player of the match award after a stunning performance.

Vinicius has now scored 15 goals and nine assists this season and continues to be a standout player for Los Blancos. He is undoubtedly one of the best strikers in world football. His latest brace took his total tally to 101 goals for the reigning European and Spanish champions.

However, with the January transfer window in full swing, there have been reports linking the 24-year-old with a move away from the Santiago Bernabeu in the near future, with the Saudi Pro League still desperate to land the Ballon d’Or. Or participants to recruit in 2024 -high.

The cash offer from clubs in the Middle East would be immense, but Vinicius has reiterated his commitment to Madrid following Wednesday night’s defeat.

“My future? Real Madrid!” said Vinicius after the whistle.

The win against the Austrian team moved Madrid up to 16th place in the Champions League standings, securing them at least a place in the play-off round of the competition.

The defending champions could still finish in the top eight and thus automatically qualify for the last 16, but would almost certainly have to beat Brest in their final game of the league phase and hope the other results go in their favour.
