Ruben Amorim offers new Alejandro Garnacho update as Chelsea links continue

Manchester United head coach Ruben Amorim has refused to rule one out exit For winger Alejandro Garnacho, with Chelsea looking to lure the Argentina international away from Old Trafford.

Chelsea have been tracking Garnacho for several weeks and it was recently reported that the Blues are pursuing the 20-year-old, who started United’s 2-1 win over Rangers on Thursday.

Amorim was questioned about Garnacho’s future at Old Trafford and had plenty of praise for the winger, leaving the door open to a possible exit in the coming days.

“He plays for Manchester United,” emphasized Amorim. “He was really important for us today. Let’s see in the next few days.

“I think he’s improving in all aspects of the game. He was better inside today and also outside and changing positions. He’s improving the recovery position. You can see it.

“For the whole 90 minutes he’s always there to relax and help. Sometimes it’s really good to show some frustration because he wants more.”

Amorim has openly challenged Garnacho to improve his game if he wants to hold down a permanent place in the United line-up and the boss admitted he repeated that demand on Thursday.

“I think he has the potential to be so much better in every situation of the game,” Amorim continued. “What I can say is that he understood what I was trying to do and was really clear. I just want to help him. In the end it’s the players who do the job.”

United are not keen to actively sell Garnacho this month, but their financial situation, ahead of a potential squad rebuild under Amorim, may force them to accept a suitable offer as this would be seen as a 100% win if they are taken into account by the Premier League’s Profit and Sustainability Rules (PSR).
