Raul may be the biggest legend of Real Madrid – but he could have been a Tottenham hero if it hadn’t been for club chairman Daniel Levy.
The 47-year-old is considered one of the best strikers in his generation after a glittering 21-year professional career.

No player in the history of Los Blancos has imagined several times for the club as Raul, who played in 741 games from 1994 to 2010.
He is also third in Real’s hit charts with 323 strikes – with only Cristiano Ronaldo [450] and Karim Benzema [354] Find the back of the network on more occasions.
His talent in front of the goal did not manage to end at the end of his Madrid career and to beat all competitions 23 times in the 2007/08 season.
Incidentally, Tottenham ended her nine -year -old trophy drought in this campaign by raising the league cup at the expense of Chelsea under the direction of Juande Ramos.
This trophy – Spurs’ only piece of silver in this century – should be the springboard for continuing success.
In the summer window in 2008, the outfit in North -London brought midfielder Luka Modric and striker Roman Pavlyuchenko.
And Raul announced that he had talks with Ramo’s conversations to become her next top -class star with the winter transfer window in 2009 on the horizon.
Spurs were on the market for a new center forward who had sold fan favorites Dimitar Berbatov to Manchester United.
And Raul – then 31 – was open to a new challenge in England, where he would have competed with Pavlyuchenko, Darren Bent and Robbie Keane Up Top.
However, after Levy had only led two points from her first eight games to her worst start to a league campaign, Ramos became in the shelter after 12 months, with Harry Redknapp quickly replacing him.

As luck, Ramos, who shared the same agent as Raul, was recorded by Real in December 2008 and won ten of his first 12 games.
Raul was praised by Raul
In conversation with Digital Plus in February 2009, Raul said: “Four months ago Juande and I had a meal with Gines Carvajal, who is our agent and a friend of mine.
“They called me because I like English football and I wanted Juande to tell me about his experiences with Tottenham and the Premier League.
“He is a soccer man and it is a pleasure to talk to him.
“A chain of events meant that he was released and then Madrid was interested in him.

“The fact that we share the same agent led to unfortunate interpretations.
“Juande is a victorious coach and he has proven that he is good enough to run Real Madrid.”
When Raul decided in 2010 to leave real, Tottenham was advertised as one of his goals.
Raul headed for rumors, said at that time: “My future is located in Germany or England.”
In the end, he decided to join Schalke with a free transmission
Raul finally stayed with Real until 2010 – scored 40 goals in 98 games – and helped them to raise both the DFB Cup and the German Super Cup.

Trains to Qatar and America followed in Al Sadd and New York Cosmos before decided in 2015 to hang up his boots.
Raul is a real legend of the game and left a lasting legacy during his long stay of the Bernabeu.
He was part of the real squad who created three crowns of the Champions League in five years.
The 102-Cap Spain national player scored against Valencia and Bayer Leverkusen both in the last victories in 2000 and in 2002.
He also won six Laliga titles -both in 1999 and in 2001, the Pichichi -Trophy won because he was the leading scorer of the division.
But the question mark will always decrease whether he would have sealed his place in Spurs Folklore if Ramos had been given more time by the board.
