Luke Shaw achieves major milestone in latest injury recovery

The defender of Manchester United, Luke Shaw, has returned to training with the rest of the squad when he approaches a return to the fitness from his last setback of injuries.

Shaw hardly played last year after suffering a thigh injury in Luton Town in the Premier League last February. He had recovered sufficiently until summer to see in the last phases of Euro 2024 for England just to turn off a calf problem.

The left-back finally appeared in the first week of Ruben Amorim’s reign as head coach for three replacement appearances before another devastating fitness strike in early December.

Now Shaw is taking another comeback. On Wednesday morning he was part of the group training in front of the Europa League matchday eight against FCSB this week.

An actual return to play can take a little more time. Shaw was not included in the tour event, which dropped to Romania a few hours later. Amorim previously suggested that the player need two weeks of training to get back to the speed before he was considered for the selection.

In Shaw’s absence, right -back Diogo Dalot was the main option that was used on the left. Tyrell Malacia has returned from his own long -term absence in injuries in the past few weeks and could end the winter transmission window elsewhere after he has been borrowed from Real Betis.

United has worked on the recruitment of a new left-back and looks near the 20-year-old Denmark International Patrick Dorgu from Lecce. Personal conditions with the player and a transmission fee at LECCE, 25.1 million GBP, which rise to 29.3 million GBP, have been agreed, and the deal now depends on a medical and completing documents before the broadcast on Monday.
