Nico Gonzalez has completed his £ 50 million transfer From Porto to Manchester City, which has completed an expensive January window for the Premier League master.
The city had already landed Omar Marmoush and the central defender Abdukodir Khusanov, Vitor Reis and Juma Bah for a total of £ 127 million before drawing attention to a midfielder.
Nico signed a four and a half year contract with City by 2029. After the cold reality of a terrible season, this window has so far been a considerable part of the club’s long -term reconstruction.
Nico is seen as “six” or “eight”, the City Hope will strengthen its midfield series and contribute to reducing the effects of being without Ballon d’Or winner Rodri.
City originally hoped to land the former Talent of Barcelona for significantly less, around € 40 million (€ 33 million), but Porto was firmly convinced that a deal of Nico’s release clause of € 60 million (50 million GBP). This is due to postage, which owes Barcelona 40% through a sales clause that corresponds to € 24 million.
It is not assumed that City has triggered the release clause, which means that you did not have to take the full transmission fee in advance, but have agreed to hand over the full amount for structured payments.
Nico made a name for herself in Barcelona in the 2021/22 season after graduating from La Masia. He played 37 games, but was borrowed to Valencia and was then sold to postage for only € 8.5 million in 2023.
