Arsenal’s four forward targets in January transfer window revealed

According to reports, Arsenal targeted four different attack options in January transfer Window, but could not get a deal over the line for any of them.

After serious injuries to Gabriel Jesus and Bukayo Saka, Mikel Areteta openly admitted that the Gunners in this year’s window “actively searched for thoughtful reinforcements”.

January came and went without a single addition – only five more Premier League clubs could not strengthen their squad last month. Arsenal’s barren roll call of new recruits, however, was not an attempt to try.

The outfit in Nord -London had four main goals during the last window, according to the Daily Mail. Arsenal made several offers for Aston Villa striker Ollie Watkins and explored a deal to bring Benjamin Sesko from RB Leipzig to London, while Mathys Tel and even Alvaro Morata were actively taken into account before making winter movements elsewhere.

Arsenal’s fruitless interest in Watkins was well documented, whereby the offer of the Gunner’s £ 40 million for the 29-year-old only her Premier League competitor asked for at least 60 million pounds to sell the opportunity to sell their starting striker.

Sesko was a long-term goal for arsenal and was still able to get to the Emirates in summer, but their attempts to accelerate a change for the 21-year-old were bluntly rejected by RB Leipzig.

The missed offer for Tel could stand for the Gunners in the coming years. The coveted French teenager was a six -month loan contract this year for a deduction from Bayern Munich and finally to Tottenham Hotspur – Arsenal’s most violent competitors, although he rejected a permanent step. Ultimately, the Areta team did not register an official offer for Tel, a decision that they could regret if it is characterized by North London on the other side.

The most surprising revelation from Arsenal’s winter activity was her interest in Morata. The 32-year-old came to AC Milan last summer, after heading Spain to the European Championship title, but was offered for sale six months later. Morata is a natural number nine, which scored 16 goals in 47 Premier League appearances for Chelsea.

In reality, the club was supposedly believed that the former Real Madrid striker would not have the necessary effects on the squad to justify his arrival. Instead, Morata secured a change to Turkish giants Galatasaray and met for the first start for the club.
