The Aston Villa manager Unai Emery described Marcus Rashford’s performance in training as “fantastic” – a strong contrast to Ruben Amorim’s persistent complaints about the striker during her time together at Manchester United.
Rashford was infamous by Amorim for the Manchester Derby from December and never appeared again for his youth club. The 27-year-old was finally loaned to the villa at the end of the winter transfer window, a deal that United’s head coach was “grateful” after six weeks of relentless examination.
Amorim recently announced that he did not make the wing player “see how they play football and train as I see it”. Once the Portuguese boss openly admitted that he would rather choose 63-year-old goalkeeper coach Jorge Vital on the bench than “every player who does not give the maximum”.

Shortly after his arrival in Villa Park, Rashford Emery had already impressed. “Today he trained fantastic,” said the Spanish boss on Friday. . “
