Arne Slot, manager of Liverpool, supported Marcus Rashford to show that during a loan in the Aston Villa he is a “very good player” who fell out of favor with Manchester United.
Rashford still has to start the villa after he was sitting almost two months before the end of January, but was generally impressed in two previous replacement appearances.
The latter saw him 1-1 draw on Saturday against Ipswich Town, and the probability is that the player will go into a starter after his return.
The next task for the villa is a game against Slots Premier League Leaders during the week, whereby it built up before the game.
Slot only had friendly and free words to say about the 27-year-old.
“The first time I was in real life against Rashford was on the USA tour last summer,” he said, moving a friendly Liverpool who was played in South Carolina against Manchester United in front of almost 80,000 fans.
“I was really impressed. He is a very good player, I hope for him, he shows it in the villa, but of course not tomorrow. I would be completely surprised if a player of this quality would not show it in the coming months he is In my opinion a very good player.
After a season with 30 goals in 2022/23, over 18 months fought for the form for over 18 months, and Ruben Amorim quickly added the foul when the new head coach took over in November.
Rashford started brightly at first, but was surprisingly falling for the Manchester Derby in mid -December, whereupon he went to the stock exchange with the desire for a “new challenge”. Amorim repeatedly said that the player did not do enough in training to justify the selection.
The Villa loan includes a purchase option of 40 million GBP, in which Rashford remains in the club with a permanent transmission. After the announcement, he said that the ambition he saw from the villa was one of the motivating factors behind the move.
