Hansi Flick responds to rumoured Chelsea interest in Marc Casado


Barcelona’s coach, Hansi Flick, has confirmed that local midfielder Marc Casado is still part of the club’s plans, despite a recent preference for Frenkie de Jong and rumors about external transfer interest.

The graduate of La Massia, Casado, enjoyed a breakout season with the first team and used an injury crisis in the campaign to cement itself and achieve 30 previous appearances.

While he initially benefited from Gavi and de Jong, both lacked the beginning of the season to recover from the respective ACL and ankle injuries, the competition has recently increased the competition for places in recent times, since both fully fit and moist.

So far, de Jong has founded three from Barcelonas five La league games in 2025 and replaced Casado in the other two at halftime. Casado only offered two minutes in the last two games.

There were rumors about Chelsea’s interests, which continued to coordinate young talents around the world as part of their recruitment strategy as part of Blueco ownership. But Flick seems to be satisfied with Casado and has not deliberately dropped the Spanish international.

Casado signed a new contract with Barcelona last June before making the constant leap to the first team level that runs until 2028. This deal includes a release clause of € 100 million (83 million GBP).
