La Liga confirm increase to Barcelona salary cap

Barcelona took another step towards better financial health after La Liga confirmed an increase in the club’s salary limit for the second half of the season.

The Barcelona squad looks like one that has been financially beaten lately. Only a handful of festival tent players and the majority that were either bought on cheap or haunted purchase.

Last January, the club’s wage limit was reduced to € 204 million, from € 270 million at the beginning of last season, at a time when Real Madrid was able to spend € 755 million.

Since President Joan Laporta desperately found new and inventive ways to collect cash, it was collected considerably at € 426 million before this season. However, the club still had to find a gap to register the summer that had signed Dani Olmo, and almost fumbled when it came to the Spanish international after missing the deadline for the second half of the campaign secure.

The salary limit grew to EUR 463 million after the end of the transfer window in January and has inflated by almost € 40 million, although it still fades into insignificance compared to Madrids.

With a Nike partnership extension and the sale of VIP boxes in the newly renovated but previously incomplete Camp Nou, Barcelona are back on the 1-1 edition rules of La Liga and are expected to be more competitive before the next season.
