With the start of the “Each spot should be part of the game” now diving into one of the greatest taboos of the athletes – with periods.
Persil carried out a study with 1,000 girls between the ages of 15 and 18 who participate in sporting activities. The investigations discovered that over three quarters (78%) of the girls stopped doing sports due to their periods, and six out of ten of them did this due to the fears of stains and leaks.
More than a quarter of the girls involved in the study do not feel comfortable when they talk about their periods, while 56% of the group feels that the topic is too personal. In addition, 76% stated that after a leak of periods they threw the sports clothing away and the under-formation that surrounds the effective stain removal significantly emphasized.
For those who stay in the game during these years of development, up to 79% of the girls stated that their periods influenced their self -confidence in sports.
Since more and more young girls get out of sports out of fear of leaks and spots out of fear, Persil has worked together with Arsenal to create a future in which every spot is proudly worn.
Gunner’s Forward Beth Mead is an important figure of the campaign: “We were all in this situation, with a leak or period stains and fear how others could react to it. But it is not right to be ashamed of something like that is normal.
“In football, we proudly wear our spots – they show our commitment and passion for the game. This should be the same for all blood stains, regardless of where they come from – because they are part of the game.
“We are proud to be part of this campaign and to stand up for girls who are for fear or ashamed of blood stains in sports. We all deserve to play with confidence and have the feeling that we belong in the game we love. ”
Tati Lindberg, Chief Officer at Dirt is well expressed: “Every spot tells a story of determination. It is good to give everything. For decades, Dirt Gut / Persil has been as a symbol of passion, not as a problem, prove, prove The dirty becomes part of the trip, not a setback.
“We are proud to join in with arsenal to challenge this double standard, the young player in a crucial moment for women’s football and women in sports. stuck in and get dirty.
